Doctors Crack A Few Eggs To Make A Family "After 10 years of infertility, punctuated by three painful pelvic surgeries and several rounds of fertility drug treatments, Janik visited the Hinsdale Center for Reproduction in February 1993 for "one more chance" at biological motherhood. The Janiks have two adopted sons, Nathan 4, and David, 2. Assisted hatching was not done during Janik's first IVF attempt at the center. During the second IVF on March 1, infertility specialist Dr. Michael Hickey transferred four hatched embryos into Janik's womb. "Three of them obviously thought it was pretty nice in there, and they're kicking me right now," she said."
